The risks of umbilical cord tissue expansion procedure
are generally low. However, complications might occur
if you have other medical conditions.
In general, the phase of expansion is not to exceed 3 to
4 passes. Some expand over 10 passes.
Other risks that are rare may include : allergic reaction to anesthesia, blood clots, infection, injury to the small intestine or other intra-abdominal structures
Some processors add blood thinners such as Heparin,
or other reagents to their product. Taking larger doses
of the product with Heparin may be harmful to patient.
